Zhangjiajie, Arrival
Welcome to Zhangjiajie, one of nature’s most extraordinary masterpieces! Upon your arrival at Zhangjiajie airport, a local tour guide will greet you. The airport is just 34 kilometers from the scenic area, and within an hour, you’ll be escorted to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure.
Wulinyuan Scenic Area: Yuanjiajie, Bailong Elevator, the First Bridge Under the Sun, Ten-mile Gallery Including Round Trip Train
Today, delve deep into the Wulinyuan Scenic Area and explore one of its highlights—Yuanjiajie. Start by taking the Bailong Elevator, a glass elevator that ascends vertically to the mountain’s peak in just 88 seconds, reaching a height of 326 meters. At the top, witness the awe-inspiring Hallelujah Mountain, the iconic filming location for Avatar, spot the First Bridge Under the Sun, pass by a mountain peak that resembles a fairy maiden holding a basket of flowers, and marvel at the towering Imperial Brush Peaks.
Take a cable car ride to Tianzi Mountain, known for its unique cluster of karst peaks that create a stunning, otherworldly landscape. Take a leisurely train ride through the Ten-mile Gallery, famed for its dense array of peaks that vividly resemble figures and animals, creating a ten-mile-long landscape painting.
Golden Whip Stream Hiking, Huangshi Village
After breakfast, set out on a picturesque hike along the Golden Whip Stream, one of Zhangjiajie’s most enchanting natural wonders. As you follow the gentle curves of the stream, take in the serene beauty of the surroundings, where the crystal-clear waters reflect the towering peaks above. This serene path leads you to Huangshi Village, another gem of the park, offering panoramic views that rival those of Tianzi Mountain.
Upon reaching Huangshi Village, take the cable car to the summit, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking vistas of the surrounding peaks and valleys. The journey down by cable car provides a different perspective, allowing you to appreciate the vastness and beauty of this remarkable landscape from above. After that, hop on a shuttle bus for a scenic ride back to the main entrance at Wujiayu.
Tianmen Mountain, Tianmen Cave, Departure
Today promises an exhilarating adventure at Tianmen Mountain. Start by tackling the ascent of 999 steps leading to Tianmen Cave, where breathtaking views await this awe-inspiring natural arch.
Afterward, take on the thrilling challenge of walking along the glass walkways that hug the cliff face, offering not only an adrenaline rush but also stunning vistas of the landscape below. Continue the journey with a ride on Asia’s longest cable car, providing a unique perspective of the dramatic mountain scenery as it soars above rugged peaks and deep valleys.
To conclude the day, a brief 20-minute drive will take you to the airport for your onward flight or train to the next destination.
