Upon arrival, your guide will pick you up and help you settle into your hotel.

In the evening, you may join an optional walking tour that reveals the city’s vibrant nightscape. Begin at Xiahaoli, a hidden gem tucked beneath high-rise overpasses, where trendy cafés, murals, and creative spaces capture Chongqing’s youthful energy. Continue to Changjiahui Riverside Park and overlook the Yangtze and Jialing rivers converging amid illuminated skyline views. End at Danzishi Old Street, a riverside neighborhood filled with traditional teahouses, cobbled paths, and historical residences glowing under lantern light. It’s a captivating introduction to Chongqing’s fusion of the old and new.

Historical Insights & City Icons

Begin your day at Liziba Station, where Chongqing’s famous monorail slices a residential building – a surreal example of the city’s vertical urban planning. Then, visit the Stilwell Museum, the residence of General Joseph Stilwell, to read original furnishings, historical photos, and wartime documents. Nearby, the Flying Tigers Museum is another site with rare pictures and aircraft models honoring the U.S.-China alliance during WWII.

In the afternoon, delve into the regional cultural legacy, local folk customs, and archaeological finds at China Three Gorges Museum, followed by a stroll along Hongya Cave Folklore Street. The multilevel riverside marketplace is known for its traditional architecture, vibrant food stalls, and striking views over the Jialing River.

Afterward, board the ship to start your Yangtze River cruise.

Days 3

Yangtze River Cruise: Mt. Shuanggui

Begin your morning with a peaceful Tai Chi session on deck, then disembark for an enriching visit to Mt. Shuanggui in Fengdu – a serene setting known for its Buddhist temples, centuries-old trees, and panoramic views over the Yangtze.

For those seeking deeper folklore, an optional tour to Fengdu Ghost City offers an eerie yet fascinating glimpse into Chinese afterlife mythology, complete with statues, temples, and legends dating back over 2,000 years.

In the evening, consider attending the FengYan SanGuo, a spectacular performance blending martial arts, historical storytelling, and theatrical effects inspired by The Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

In the morning, opt for a visit to the legendary White Emperor City, which offers sweeping views of Qutang Gorge and reveals ancient cliffside poetry and imperial tales.

As the ship sails through the Qutang Gorge, marvel at its towering cliffs and dramatic narrows – the shortest yet most majestic of the Three Gorges. Around midday, glide into the misty beauty of Wu Gorge, famed for its ethereal peaks and mythic atmosphere.

In the afternoon, enjoy a guided excursion to the serene Goddess Stream, where you’ll board a smaller boat to explore its crystal-clear waters, lush ravines, and the hidden life of local river communities.

Disembarkation & Departure

Conclude your Yangtze River journey with a visit to the monumental Three Gorges Dam Site, the world’s largest hydroelectric project. Walk along viewing platforms that offer sweeping perspectives of the dam’s massive scale and engineering brilliance, while learning about its impact on river navigation and local communities.

For a closer encounter, an optional excursion allows guests to board a sightseeing ferry that sails through the Three Gorges Dam Ship Elevator – an impressive feat of technology that lifts cruise vessels nearly 113 meters in a matter of minutes.
