Suzhou
Arrival in Guilin
Welcome to Guilin! After you touch down, your private guide and driver will warmly greet you and take you to your hotel. Relax for the rest of the day at the hotel or explore downtown Guilin at your own pace.
Guilin Flavors: Street Foods, Wine, and Tea
Explore the city through its flavors today. Start your morning with a bowl of Guilin rice noodles, featuring meat, vegetables, and sour pickled beans that awaken your appetite – a favorite traditional breakfast for locals. Wander through quiet neighborhoods, savoring street foods. Then, dive into Lequn Market for fresh pastries, cooked food, seasonal fruits, and mingle with the locals.
Followed by Chuanshan Cave Wine Cellar, one of China‘s largest natural wine cellars, and savor the rich flavors of locally aged Baijiu and fruit wines. Later in the afternoon, transfer to the Tea Science Research Institute for a hands-on tea experience – picking tender tea leaves, pan-frying, and enjoying a cup of fragrant tea you brewed. Engage in an immersive Chinese tea experience while relaxing in the tranquil tea garden.
Li River Bamboo Rafting and Light Hiking
This morning, take a car ride to Yangdi Pier, located in Yangshuo County. Hop on a bamboo raft for a leisurely drift and marvel at the breathtaking landscapes along the scenic Li River, including the famous Nine Horses Fresco Hill.
After disembarking, start a light hike towards Xingping Town, admiring the crystal-clear Li River as it twists dramatically through towering peaks. Upon reaching Xingping Town, take a short electric shuttle and cross by ferry to Dabeihe Village, a riverside village surrounded by serene mountains and water, where you will spend the night.
Xianggong Mountain, Countryside Biking
After breakfast, head to Xianggong Mountain, famed as “the best spot for photographing the Li River”. Trek for about 30 minutes to the summit, and enjoy a stunning sunrise over the Li River as it bends among towering peaks.
Descend and drive onward to Yangshuo County, where today you’ll dive into the authentic countryside by bike. Off the beaten paths, meander through quaint villages, local schools, rice paddies, and sugarcane fields, experiencing the rhythm of rustic life. Witness farmers guiding water buffalo at work. If the moment permits, roll up your sleeves and take part in the farm work. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure – whether relaxing in a café on West Street or setting off on an outdoor adventure.
